High Art: Requiem for a Dream meets Sarah Schoenfeld

Berlin based artist Sarah Schoenfeld captures the experience and disconnected euphoria of Ketamine, MDMA, and other recreational drugs without actually taking the drugs herself. Working as a bartender in the nightclub’s that rule the Euro scene she was intrigued and apprehensive about the power a substance has over the human body. By magnifying liquefied drugs on photographic negatives the darkroom process reveals the complex chemical nature of the substances and mirrors the effects on those who engage them. The appropriately titled series, All You can Feel, is currently on display at the Feldbuschwiesner Gallery in Germany where the artist and the inspriation for the works reside.
